Twiggs Co New Era
Zilphia (maiden name Floyd) Chance was born 6-16-1874 and died 1-22-1938 and is
buried at Mt. Zion (Ga. DC# 2303). Her husband, John Solomon Chance is also
buried there.

Mrs. John Chance

Funeral services for Mrs. John Chance, 64, were conducted Sunday morning at 11
o'clock at her residence in the Mt. Zion community, the Rev. M.J. Bennett,
Seville and Rev. J.D. Reese officiated with  burial in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Mrs. Chance died Saturday morning following a three week's illness of double
pneumonia. She was a member of Prospect Methodist church.

Survivors are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Frank Carlen and Mrs. John
Arnolds, Twiggs Co and Mrs. Nonnie Smith, Oconee; four sons, Silas, Joseph,
Rufus and Burton Chance, Twiggs County; two brothers, Earnest and Duke Floyd,
Twiggs County; three sisters, Mrs. Zach Thompson, Mrs. Harvey Sauls and Mres
Jimmie Thompson all of this county.
