Macon Telegraph, Feb. 9, 1936
Died from pneumonia. Funeral will 
be held today at Antioch Baptist 
church @ 2pm in Twiggs County. 
Mr. Cumbess was born May 5,1909 
to Mr. Jack Cumbess and Susie 
Crosby Cumbess. He spent most of 
him life in Twiggs County until 
about 2yrs.prior which he then 
came to Macon to work for a 
textile company Adam's 
Manufacturing Co.
Survivors include his wife Miss 
Mary Lou Hudson of Twiggs:four 
sisters Mrs. Elizabeth C Sapp, 
widow of J. W. Sapp, who was 
killed in an automobile accident 
here in January 1934: Mrs. Zula 
Sapp, Mrs. Mary Sapp and Mrs Nora 
Scarbary, all of Dry Branch GA. 
Three brothers, Henry and Isaac 
Cumbess of Dry Branch and Ernest 
Cumbess of Macon. The funeral 
cortage will leave 354 Fairview 
Avenue @12:30 pm.
Pallbears include: L. P. Siaton, 
Woodrow Wilson, Marvin Fountain, 
Grover Jerkins, Henry Walker and 
Thomas Mouton.
