"Harris" Floyd, 74, of 6446 Gibson Rd., died Friday, August 3, 2001. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, August 6, 2001 at the chapel of Hart's Mortuary with burial in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. The family may be contacted at the residence. Visitation 7:00pm to 9:00pm Monday at Hart's Mortuary. Mr. Floyd was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Born and raised in Twiggs County, Mr. Floyd served as county commissioner for four years. He was a member of Liberty Hill Masonic Lodge #108 in Dry Branch and the Moose Club. Mr. Floyd was retired from Georgia Power after 40 years of service. He was the son of the late Clarence S. Floyd. Mr. Floyd is survived by his wife, Ruby H. Floyd of Macon; mother, Mary H. Floyd of Macon; two stepsons, Jimmy Hill of Richmond, IN. and Paul Hill of Birmingham, AL.; three sisters, Carolyn Lee and Doris Maddox, both of Macon and Shirley Chance of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangments. Additional Comments: Harris was born 13 Aug 1926 to Clarence "Manch" Sauls Floyd and Mary Lou Hasty Floyd. His first wife was Christine Cannon Floyd who is also buried at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens.
