Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net April 8, 2008, 11:38 am Newspaper Twiggs County Lafayette "Fay" Floyd was born 9 Sep 1908 and died 18 Dec 1964 and is buried at Lucy Chapel Cemetery in twiggs County Fay Floyd Funeral services for Fay Floyd, 56, of Cochran, who died Friday afternoon in the Taylor Memorial Hospital, following a long illness where held Sunday afternoon at the Lucy Chapel Methodist Church in Twiggs County. The services were conducted by Rev. Ted Griner and Rev. Ralph Foster. Burial was in the Lucy Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Floyd was born in Twiggs County the son of the late Tobe and Susie Arnold Floyd, and has lived in Twiggs and Bleckley Counties all of his life. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Lucy Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Iduma Howell Floyd; five sons, W.L. Floyd of Macon, Thomas, John, Alton and Odell Floyd all of Cochran; five grandchildren, one brother, George Floyd of Montrose; eight sisters, Mrs. I.A. Newby of Cochran, Mrs. Need Lucas of Cochran; Mrs. Romie Odom of Macon, Mrs. Ara Fowler of Macon, Mrs. Ella Wimberly of Danville, Mrs. Clarence Hunnicutt of Izella, Mrs. Lillie Lucas of Danville and Mrs. Reere Floyd of Jeffersonville.
