"Sam" Fowler was born 3-11-1874 (according to his death certificate) and died 12-5-1959 (GA DC#32148) and is buried at Mt. Zion in Twiggs County. NOTE--His tombstone lists his DOB as 3-11-1873 From The Twiggs County New Era 12-18-1959 Page 2 M. W. Fowler Rites Held Funeral services for Mathias W. Fowler, 85, were held at the Mt. Zion Church. Burial was in the church cemetery and the Cool Springs Lodge No. 185 acted as pallbearers and were in charge of the graveside services. The Rev. Sidney Odum officiated. Mr. Fowler was a life long resident of Danville and a member of the Mt. Zion Church and the Cool Springs Lodge. He was a retired farmer and storekeeper. Survivors include five sons, Harvey Fowler, Warner Robins, Dennard L., Jule, Tom, and Marshal Fowler, all of Macon; three daughters, Miss Lizzie Fowler and Mrs. W. D. Rickerson, both of Danville, and Mrs. Marion Kitchens, Macon.
