Twiggs County Georgia Records: A Reconstructed Heritage by Bess Vaughn Clark; original obituary published January 15, 1910
Mrs. MARY GRIFFIN, age 75, widow of the late WILLIAM GRIFFIN, died at the home 
of her son, Mr. Robert Griffin, on January 10, 1910.  Burial in the 
Jeffersonville City Cemetery. Sons of the late Henry Griffin were the 6 
pallbearers.  Survived by 3 sons, Luther L., Robert S., and Short Griffin of 
Twiggs County, 5 daughters, Mrs. John Floyd near Eastman, Mrs. Ella Edmonson 
of Cordele, Mrs. Joseph Vinson of Dexter, Mrs. B.A. Reddick of Americus and 
Mrs. Newton Hutson (sic) of Ocilla.

Mary E. Lingo Griffin (born November 26, 1832 – died January 10, 1910) was the 
daughter of Richard Taliaferro Lingo and Lucinda (unknown maiden name) 
Clements Humphries.
 
Spouse William Griffin (born January 8, 1825 – died November 23, 1884) was the 
son of Etheldred Griffin and Malinda Burton.
