DC # 141) and is buried at Prospect Cemetery in twiggs County

Funeral Services For Mrs. Grimsley To Be Held Today

Mrs. George T. Grimsley, 308 Applewood Street, died in a local hospital at
3:50PM Sunday after an illness of a week. She had been in declining health for
several months.
Mrs. Grimsley, the former Miss Eula Wilkes was born at Lyons, the daughter of J.
A. Wilkes and Mrs, Victoria Odon and had made her home in Macon for 13 years.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Calvin Grimsley of Jacksonville,Fla; William and
Charles Grimsley of Macon; five daughters, Mrs. Susie Johnson of Augusta; Mrs.
Alma McGatha of Ft. Bragg, NC; Mrs. C. W. Hardigree of Macon; Miss Sadie
Grimsley of Detroit; Mrs. Dollie Campbell of Gordon; five sisters, Mrs. Lizzie
Pittman of Augusta; Mrs. Ophelia Smith of Vidalia; Mrs. Blannie Smith of Hagan;
Mrs. Victoria Kemp of Brunswick; Mrs. Catherine Hughes of Pembroke; seven
brothers, Oscar Wilkes of Clinton, SC; Willie Wilkes of Ostin, Ga.; Emmett and
Otto Wilkes of Lyons; Leroy and Debert Wilkes of Pembroke; and Edward Wilkes of
Vidalia; three stepsons, J. L., S. B., and J. H. Grimsley of Jacksonville; three
stepdaughters, Mrs. Myrtle Brooks, Mrs. Frances Anderson, and Mrs. Belle Martin
of Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary at 2PM Monday.
The Rev. Bob Taylor will officiate and burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery
with committal services at 3:45PM.
