DC# 12395) and is buried at Mt. Zion. From The Macon Telegraph 6-21-1955 page 14A Averett Hamm Funeral services for Averett Hamm of Rte. 4 Macon, whose death occured in a local hospital following a brief illness, will be held in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 4PM today. The Rev. Paul Jones and Elder Elzie Bryant will officiate and burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 3:30 to 4PM at the church. Pallbearers will be Henry N. Hamm, Hubert Thompson, Hansel Thompson, Buford Hamm, Ralph Mixon, and Jack Hamm Jr. Mr. Hamm, a retired farmer, was the son of Charlie Hamm and Mrs. Nancy Williams Hamm and was born in Twiggs County, living there all his life. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Danville. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Lou Chance of Macon; one son, William Henry Hamm of Dry Branch; three daughters, Mrs. J. W. Stokes of Gordon, Mrs. Sallie Nobles and Mrs. Annie Thompson, both of Macon; five brothers, J. W. Hamm of Parrott, A. J. Hamm of Danville, Howard Hamm of Preston, D. W. Hamm of Jackson, and C. B. Hamm of Milledgeville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his stepmother, Mrs. Martha Hamm of Macon. Hart's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
