Zion Cemetery in Twiggs County. His wife, Carrie Jane Sauls Hill, is also buried there. From The Macon Telegraph 9-9-1953 Page 11A Edgar L. Hill Funeral services for Edgar Lee Hill, retired farmer, who died at his residence, Route 1, Danville, at 3:30PM Monday, were held at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. R. C. Chance, Danville, Route 1, at 4PM Tuesday. The Rev. D. M. Smith officiated and burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Masonic services at the graveside, conducted by the Cool Springs Lodge, F and AM, No. 185. Active pallbearers were Norman Vaughn, L. Z. Asbell, Mercer Burns, Joe Faulk, Shine Faulk, and Bill Faulk. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Lee, Dan W. Locklin, William J. Penn, John T. Maxwell, W. R. Lamb, F. Y. Stokes, James Hamrick, W. B. Watson, H. B. Williams, Marvin Brack, Joe Frank Barton, M. H. Stevens, H. L. Hughes, B. F. Helton, W. H. Thomspon, M. A. Chapman, Wilbur Council, S. G. Kitchens, D. L. Stokes, C. C. Hawkins, R. C. Chance, George Hill, Clyde Spears, Tom Hill, Cecil Spears, Joe Bailey, and george Seaton. Mr. Hill had made his home at Danville since childhood, coming there from North Carolina. He was a member and a deacon in the Richland Baptist Church and had been a member of the Cool Springs Lodge, F and AM, for more than 50 years. Surviving are three sons, Robert F. Hill, Chan D. Hill, and Woodrow Hill, Danville; a daughter, Mrs. R. C. Chance, Danville; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Spear, Irwinton and Mrs. Florence Horton, Jeffersonville.
