                      Mildred Howell

 WARNER ROBINS--- Services for Mildred L. Howell will be at 11am Friday in 
Southside Baptist Church with burial in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. 
Howell, 72, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997, in a Warner Robins hospital. Born in 
Greenville County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Lillie L. 
Pottmyer Long. The widow of Ernest W. Howell, she retired after 33 years with 
the Keeber Co. in Macon. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary in Macon and was 
a volunteer at the veteran's hospital. She also was a member of Southside 
Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class.

 Survivors include her son, Walter G. Spears Jr.; stepchildren, Kenneth Howell, 
Eugene Howell, Hilda Waters, amd Juanita Cleghorn, all of Warner Robins, and 
Wayne Howell of Byron; brother and sister, Charles D. Long and Lilly Phillips, 
both of South Carolina; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

 The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in Heritage Memorial 
Funeral Home.
