His wife, Cora B. (maiden name Hendricks) Howell is also buried there. W. Melvin Howell Danville - W. Melvin Howell, 69, died Thursday in a Bleckley County hospital. Services will be held at 3pm today in Lucy Chapel Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Richard A. Trawick and the Rev. John T. Smith will officiate. Mr. Howell, a native of Bleckley County lived in Danville four years, having moved from Macon. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Howell and was a retired employee of Bassett Furniture Co of Macon. He was a member of Lucy Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora B. Howell of Danville; two brothers, Henry Howell of Macon and Jimmy Howell of Cochran; and six sisters, Mrs. Beulah Kitchens, Mrs. Beatrice Basner and Mrs. Thelma Mixon, all of Macon. Mrs. Virginia Wilson of Douglas, Mrs. Corine Ricks of Wapoto, Wash and Mrs. Iduma Floyd of Cochran. The body will be placed in the church at 2pm today. The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Howell, Route 1, Cochran. Fisher Funeral Home was charge of arrangements.
