(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net January 21, 2011, 12:49 pm The Cochran Journal 3-5-1942 Page 2 Funeral Held For Mrs. Elizabeth Lamb The funeral for Mrs. Elizabeth Lamb, age 78 years, was held at Cool Springs Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Elder E. D. Bryant was the preacher conducting the services. T. W. Fisher & Son were funeral directors in charge. She succumbed at the home of her son, Freeman Lamb, after suffering ill health for quite a long time. She was the widow of the late John Lamb. The bereaved family is grief stricken in having to give up this loved one who had blessed their home, and she shared their tribulations as well as their joys. She always had a consoling word for those in trouble, and she, even in her feeble way, was a great comfort to those about her. Surviving are two sons, Freeman Lamb of near Cochran and Marion Lamb of Gordon; two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Spears of Vienna and Mrs. A. W. Nobles of Fort Valley. Additional Comments: Elizabeth was born 6 Oct 1864 daughter of Sugar James Partin and Elizabeth Manning Partin. Georgia death certificate #6437.
