(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net July 11, 2013, 1:34 pm The Cochran Journal 6-20-1946 Page 1 Funeral Services held For Joshua Lucas Funeral services for Joshua Lucas, 67, who died Saturday night at his home following a heart attack, were held Monday afternoon at the Lucy Chapel Methodist Church. The services were conducted by the Rev. John Yarborough. Interment was in the family lot in the church cemetery. Mr. Lucas was born in Twiggs county, the son of the late Tom and Jeraline Hudson Lucas. He has been living in Bleckley for the past fifteen years where he was engaged in farming. He was widely known through this section as a fox hunter. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Lucas; seven sons, Hoke, Jim, J. W., Fred, Gus, Thomas, and Herbert Lucas; seven daughters, Mrs. Joe Graham, Mrs. Henry Grinstead, Misses Lucille, Lilly Mae, Evelyn, Christine, and Mattie Lou Lucas. The following men served as pallbearers: Chan Hill, Dock Lucas, Nead Lucas, Jack Lucas, J. E. Graham, and Paul Bishop. Fusher Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
