GA newspaper Thursday, 2 Jan 1894 : At Allentown Wednesday, E. R. McPhail was at work at his mill. The saw struck a piece of plank knocking it through him, killing him instantly. His family, which is large, lives near Cochran. His death is quite a blow to them. About 8 years ago he made his home here in Mt. Vernon. NOTES: It links him to three towns, Allentown where the sawmill was, Cochran, and Mt. Vernon. He had several brothers and sisters in the area also. Would like to find where he is buried. There was a cemetery in Cochran that several of the McPhail's were buried in but it is my understanding that cemetery has been destroyed and is somewhere in a field that is under cultivation now. So will never know who was buried there unless I can find some records
