                        Rites Are Set For Jesse Newby
 Jesse Shannon Newby, 58, of 1365 Duncan Av., died unexpectedly yesterday in 
Houston County. Funeral services will be held at 4pm Monday in the chapel of 
Hart's Mortuary. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park.
 Newby, the son of Jesse I. Newby and Mrs. Dora Lee Newby, was born in Twiggs 
County and had lived in Macon for 15 years. He was a routeman for Meddin 
Brothers Packing Co., a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and the Gland 
Hand Sunday School Class. He was a Mason and a member of Danville Lodge.
 Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Laura Whitten, Macon; one 
daughter, Mrs. Frank M. O'Neal of Augusta and one son, David Newby of Macon; 
three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. G. M. Blount of Macon, Mrs. C. R. 
Faulk Jr. of Jeffersonville, and Mrs. Conrad Hodges, also of Macon; two 
brothers, J. Lee Newby of Ft. Worth, Tex. and H. H. Newby of Macon; and 
several nieces and nephews.

Jesse was born 2-27-1902. Georgia death certificate #33532.
