                        Last Rites Set For G. B. Newby
 Funeral services for George B. Newby, 48, of Route 1 Jeffersonville, who died 
in the Talmadge Memorial Hospital in Augusta Tuesday afternoon after a brief 
illness, will be held in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 4pm today. The Rev. 
Paul Jones and Elder E. D. Bryant will officiate and burial will be in the 
church cemetery.
 Pallbearers will be Charles Hill, Marshall Lee, Frank Ross Stokes, Joe 
Massengale, Clarence Phillips, and G. C. Hankins.
 Honorary pallbearers will be Hembree Carroll, Homer Chance, S. M. Gallemore, 
A. T. Land, Rufus Chance, Hade Stevens, David Califf, Roland Stevens, Tom Lee, 
Lewis Smith, Robert F. Hill, Eddie Pettis, John Cole, and George Winters.
 Mr. Newby, a farmer, was a life-long resident of Jeffersonville. He was the 
son of Mr. and Mrs Jesse I. Newby. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
 Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Mozelle Little; four sons, Bradley, 
Wallace, Frank, and Kenneth Newby, all of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Mrs. 
J. M. Kitchens and Miss Rhonda Newby, Jeffersonville; two grandchildren; his 
mother, Mrs. J. I. Newby, Jeffersonville; three brothers, J. S. and H. H. 
Newby of Macon and J. Lee Newby of Ft. Worth, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. C. R. 
Faulk Jr. of Jeffersonville, Mrs. G. W. Blount and Mrs. Conrad Hodges, both of 
Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
 Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements.

George was born 7-19-1908 to Jesse Ivey "Jess" Newby and Dora "Dode" Estella 
Lee Newby. Georgia death certificate #14833.
