Jesse Ivey Newby was born 9-13-1870 and died 3-17-1947 (GA DC# 15915). His wife,
Dora Estella Lee Newby is buried in the Lee Cemetery in Twiggs County.

JEFFERSONVILLE, March 18----Funeral arrangements are incomplete for Jesse I.
Newby, 76, prominent Twiggs County citizen who died at his home Monday night.
Newby was a native and life-long resident of Twiggs County. He at one time
represented the county in the state legislature and was a justice of the peace
for many years.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Dora Lee; four sons, J. Lee Newby,
Houston, Texas; Jesse S. Newby, George Newby, and Herbert Newby, all of Twiggs
County; three daughters, Mrs. Alma Blount, Macon; Mrs. C. R. Faulk, Twiggs
County; and Mrs. Conley Hodges of Tennessee; two sisters, Mrs. W. C. Sanders,
Twiggs County and Mrs. C. H. Parker, Macon; and a half-brother, the Rev. F. B.
Asbell, Cochran.
