DC# 24070) and is buried at Mt. Zion. From The Macon News 12-1-1945 page 5 Mrs. Romia Pope Passes at Home Mrs. Romia Pope died at her residence, 111 Grady Street, at 5AM Saturday, after an illness of three months.Mrs. Pope, widow of John B. Pope, was born in Twiggs County, the daughter of J. W. Carter and Mrs. Dona Chance Carter, and had lived in Macon for three years. She was a member of Mikado Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, M. L. Pope, Danville and William E, Pope, US Army; two daughters, Mrs. W. O. Brown, Danville and Mrs. J. B. Ball, Macon; three grandchildren; seven brothers, W. M. Carter, Dublin, J. B. Carter, Dudley Carter, and Colothree Carter, all of Twiggs County, P. R. Carter, Macon, Z. Carter, Warner Robins, and Eglist Carter of Pennsylvania; one sister, Mrs. Charles Rohr, Washington, DC. Funeral services will be held at the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Twiggs County at 3:30PM Sunday. The Rev. J. E. Townsend will officiate and burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
