Mathew Hayden Stevens Sr. was born 11-27-1897 and died 12-16-1965 (GA DC#
035457) and is buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Twiggs County.

DANVILLE---Funeral services for M. H. Stevens Sr., 68, of Danville will be held
at 3PM Saturday in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The Rev. M. J. Bennett, the Rev.
Paul Jones, the Rev. A. T. Faircloth, and the Rev. M. L. Moncrief will
officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Twiggs County.
Mr. Stevens, a dealer in livestock, was kicked by a horse on Monday. He died
unexpectedly in a Macon hospital on Thursday night.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Holliday Stevens of Danville; a son, M.
H. Stevens Jr. of Danville; a daughter, Mrs. B. H. Dominey of Danville; two
brothers, R. L. Stevens of Danville and E. R. Stevens of Jeffersonville; and
four grandchildren.
