Rev. England served his county during the trying days of the Civil War, and 
carried to his grave the scars he received during this terrible conflict. After 
the surrender he entered the ministry, serving for fifty-eight years.
Rev. England was the third son of William G. England and Mary Ann Sims. He was 
born in Oglethrope County, nine miles from Lexington, Ga.
He married Sara Rebecca Williams of Oxford, Ga., Dec. 18, 1873. He was licensed 
to preach at Crawford, Ga., May 24, 1873 and into full connection, Dec., 1876.
