Conference...Roll of Our Dead...1934 Dr. Jenkins died at Emory University Hospital after an illness of six months. He was born in Charleston, S.C. and graduated from Emory College, Oxford, Ga., with the class of 1891, receiving his AB degree and first honor. The Degree of Doctor of Divinity was conferred on him by Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1920. His parents were Daniel Jenkins and Annie Elizabeth Rush. His Mother was the daughter of Rev. Leonard Rush who preached in the Carolinas and Alabama and at the time of his death was a member of the North Ga. Conference. Dr. Jenkins was one of 8 children. Five of his brothers became preachers. On April 3, 1895 he married Mrs. Annie Gordon Brewer-West of Cusseta, Ga. Four children were born, Laura Willis who died in infancy; Roseline Lesesne; Elizabeth Rush; John Samuel, who died in infancy.
