Yarbrough Rev. Maxwell was born in Elbert Co., Ga. He was licensed to preach in July, 1896 and was admitted on trial into the North Ga. Conference in Nov. 1900. In early manhood he was married to Miss Bessie Evenson of Elbert Co. and to them were born 3 children. In early life Mrs. Maxwell died and Rev. Maxwell married Miss Sarah Banks of Decatur who reared the children with loving kindness. In the fall of 1931 he took the superannuate relation and moved into the home in Jonesboro, Ga. Although he never received very large salaries he always provided well for his household, gave college educations to each child and was liberal to all causes. He never left a debt unpaid.
