Joseph Astor Sharp Dr. Sharp was a teacher for twenty five or more years. As a preacher, Dr. Sharp's achievements at Young Harris mark him as an educational administrator. Dr. Sharp found the time to lead the citizenry of his beloved mountains in social and religious progress. His affluent life enriched a generation of mountain folk in Georgia. He was licensed to preach Nov., 1894; ordained Deacon, Nov., 1896; ordained Elder, 1901; admitted on trial by North Ga. Coference,1894 and admitted to full connection, 1896. Died at Wesley Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, March 27, 1930. Buried at Young Harris, Sunday, March 30, 1930 at 1:00PM. C.C.
