Infantry was consolidated with the 28th Battn. Ga. Siege Artillery and the consolidated organization was consolidated with the 1st Regiment Ga. Regulars (consolidated.) NOTE.- Georgia Battalions usually consisted of from three to five companies. The 11th Battn. of Infantry consisted of nine companies. On May 12, 1862, Co. K, Ga. Inf. was added to the 11th Battn. Ga. Inf. (composed of Companies A to L) and the organization was designated as the 47th Regiment Ga. Inf., C.S.A. Williams, Gilbert W. M.- Elected Captain of Co. K, 5th Regiment Ga. State Troops October 6, 1861; Major of the 11th Battn. Ga. Inf. October 25,1861; Lieutenant Colonel March 22, 1862; Colonel of the 47th Regiment Ga. Inf. to rank from May 12, 1862. Requested 15 days leave of absence from July 1,1863. Appointed Surgeon from the State of Maryland and sent to the 8th Regiment North Carolina Inf. September 19, 1863. Captured at Southwest Creek March 8, 1865. Transferred to Washington, D. C. March 17, 1865. Sent to Fortress Monroe, Va. March 24, 1865.
