Isham Harrison was born in Ga. his family migrated from Virginia , North Carolina to Georgia where he settled for a short time in Hancock ,Putnam, Upson , Merewether, Butts and Pike Counties. His first wife Lucinda I believe died during childbirth .May 1st.1853 He married his second wife Catherine Missouri Childs July 9th. 1854. Catherime Childs and Isham neighbors living only about four houses away before they were married. They lived Separately in the 551st. militia district near Meansville. After they were married, While living in Merewether County Catherine was an active member of the Methodist Church and was community involved. Catherine and Isham lived in Upson County from 1835 to about 1862's. He was a tax collector in Upson County from January 17th. 1852 - 1854. He sold his farm of 192 acres and moved to Merewether county where he farmed and was a overseer. He served in the 715th Georgia Militia District during the Civil War. During the years 1863 though 1871 he is shown that his aggregated value was $655.00. He died February 10th. 1886 AND IS BURIED AT THE Methodist Church in Zebulon Ga. William W. about 1836 based on 1850 census 2.John H. about 1838 based on 1850 census 3. Thomas 4.Emily about 1841 based on 1850 census 5. Elizabeth 6.James 7. Mary Estelle about 1848 based on 1850 census 8. Matilda 9. Isham J. died May 1st 1853 based on 1850 census Wiley S. Harrison shown in1850 census Pg. 552 Pike county history with Isham and Lucinda household he was 10 years old born about 1840. based on the 1850 census 2nd. wife Catherine Missouri ( Childs ) Harrison May 15 th. 1827 died July 1872 Buried in Merewether County. Married Isham Harrison July 9th. 1854 Father Jeremiah Childs born Va. 1801 died after 1880 Mother Katherine McLane born 1799 in Ga. Spouse Isham Harrison born January 20th. 1811 in Ga. Miss Thurman is quite popular and thoroughly admired here where for the past year she has been one of the teachers in Jeff Davis Institute. She is a daughter of Dr. J.P. Thurman of Barnesville and is, by education and nature a fit mistress for a happy home.
