Died May 01, 1850 in Loachapoka,Lee CO. AL. He Married Olive L. Sims Feb. 15, 1809 in Baldwin Co. GA. Olive is the daughter of William Sims and Judith (Green) Sims. Olive was born March 16, 1792 in GA. and died Nov. 29, 1854 in Loachapoka, Lee CO. AL. Both are buried on the old Tamplin plantation,(now the Dawson farm) in Loachapoka, AL. John & Olive Tamplin were the first pioneers to arrive in Loachapoka, AL as the creek indians were moving west. The Tamplin's were also moving across the state of Ga. living in several counties there. All of John & Olive Tamplin's children were born in Ga. Frances Tamplin, b. Abt. 1810, GA. married William S. Gaines. Edmund W. Tamplin, b. 1811 GA. Married Prudence Lovejoy. John Z. Tamplin, b. 1815. GA Benjamin Franklin Tamplin b. Jan. 26, 1818 GA. d. Dec. 23, 1857, Loachapoka,Lee Co. AL. J.Henry H. Tamplin, b. 1825, GA Zacharia Tamplin, b. 1827, GA Jane Monroe Tamplin, b. 1820, GA. d. 1877, Texas Jane (Janney) Tamplin was a brother to John Tamplin. She was born feb. 28, 1794 in Jones County GA. and died oct. 05, 1856 in Upson Co. GA. She married William B. Trice Jan. 17, 1809. William Trice was the son of Benjamin Trice and Patience Gibson. William Trice was born July 10, 1789, and died June 26, 1858 in Upson Co. Ga. Their were several Tamplin families in Ga. Not all of them have been researched or tied into my Tamplin Line. Here are the counties that I know that my Tamplin kin were in. Talbot,Upson,Monroe,Jones,Baldwin,Hancock,Taliferro,. and drew in the land lottery and recieved land in Appling co. way to the south, but dont think they ever moved there. other names associated with my Tamplin's were Trice, Booth, Sims, Card, Huff, Paul, Lovejoy.
