Goodwin 23 Overseer Notes: WattsinKilgore@aol.com Our Christie family was connected to the Kendall family prior to 1850. We have been trying to find out where our Josiah Allen Christie was buried. He married the second time a Susan Davis who was related to the Kendall family. Susan was the daughter of Jemima Kendall Davis and Dolphin Davis. Dolphin Davis was a Methodist preacher. Apparently, Susan was much younger than Josiah Allen. Josiah A. died not long after his second marriage. Arena Christie who married Hardy J. Wheless was a daughter of Josiah Allen and Nancy. Mary Christie who married Greenberry Harrell was also a daughter. Greenberry and Mary Christie Harrell migrated to Florida. Hardy J. Wheless and family stayed in the Upson County, Georgia, area. When Josiah Allen Christie died, Susan Davisī uncle Dr. Kendall took care of the minor Christies by Josiahīs first wife. We just havenīt been able to locate any burial place for Josiah Allen Christie and his first wife Nancy Cureton Christie. His second wife remarried. It is very possible that there are no stones for the Christies, and the cemetery where they were buried may not even exist today.
