Cobb Ordinary for the County of Upson and State the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. I, Daniel R. Beall of the said County and State above mentioned do hereby give, grant, bargain and sell, alien and convey with the said Wm. A. Cobb and his successors in office a part of lot number one hundred and ninety three (193) in the tenth (10) land district of originally Monroe now Upson County. Said part of lot of land containing and surrounding the graves of the Confederate States Soldiers there buried and being a right-angled parallelogram one hundred and fifty feet long North and South and fifty feet wide East and West [7500 sq. ft. or slightly more than 0.172 acres.] The parallel lines lying equally distant from the center of said Grave Yard together with all privileges and appurtenances thereto in conveyance belonging in fee simple to have and to hold said parcel of land for the said purpose and use of a permanent burial graveyard for said Soldiers only. In testimony whereof the said Daniel R. Beall hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal this the third day of March eight hundred and sixty seven [March 3, 1867.] D.R. Beall (L.S.)
