Kennedy, Ira L. Ward, W. G. Stallings and Lucinda Shattles __ true lawful attorneys in fact and in my name and behalf to make sale in such manner s they may benefit my plantation and home place in said county of Upson with the land there to belonging making five hundred acres more or less, said lands adjoining Thomas Kennedy, William Blourst on the North, Williamson Collier, James Taylor and James Shattles on the East, Robert Pasley and James Pasley on the South and the lands of some person unknown on the west. And to make and deliver to the purchase thereof a deed of conveyance of title thereof warranting the same against me, my heirs, executors, and administrators and all other persons. And I do also by these presents further authorize and empower my said attorneys to sell all my negro slaves to wit: Dave, a man Lewis, a man Joe, a man Ursery, a woman Judy, a woman Lucy, a woman and her infant girl child which manner and as such terms as they may think fit. Also to make sale and terms in anyway in their discretion, all my corn fodder, ___, wheat, oat, potatoes, horses, mules, hogs, cows, oxen, carts, buggy and haruies??, plantation tools, household and kitchen furniture. And my said attorneys shall and by these presents do have the power to appoint any one or more of their member attorney or attorneys in fact under them to execute the powers here in before given to them. And all and singular the power necessary to the full execution of the powers given here in before are by these presents given to them and to such attorney or attorneys as they may appoint hereby ratifying and confirming all that may be done as aforesaid in the premises.
