Turner 16 Jan 1851 State of Georgia Upson County This Indenture made the sixteenth day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty one - between Edwin C. Turner of the County of So Fayette & state of Arkansas of the one part and James Johnson Ruffin & William Whitmel Ruffin of the County of Upson & State of Georgia of the other part witnesseth that the said Edwin C. Turn for an in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars in hand paid at and before the sealing and elivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has granted, bargained, sold, alieved conveyed and confirmed any by these present does grant bargain sell alieve convey and confirm unto the said JAMES JOHNSON RUFFIN and WILLIAM WHITMEL RUFFIN their heirs and assings all that parcel of land situated lying and being in the fifteenth (15th) district of formerly Monroe now Upson Co known and distinguished in the plan of said district by three fourths of Lot number one hundred and sixty containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less. To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land with all & singular the rights and appertenances thereto appertaining to the only proper use benefit and behoof of them the said JAMES JOHNSON RUFFIN and WILLIAM WHITMELL RUFFIN their heirs, executors and administrations in Fee Simple and the said Edwin C. Turner, the said bargained promises unto the said JAMES JOHNSON RUFFIN & WILLIAM WHITMELL RUFFIN their heirs, executors, administrators and assignees against the said Edwin C. Turner, his heirs, executors and administration and against all and every other person or persons shall and will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these present.
