October 14, 1835
This indenture made this fourteenth day of October in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty
five and in the fifty ninth year of the Independence of
the United States of America between Harrison Smith of the County of Upson of the one part and John Castlin of the County of Upson of the other part.


Witnesseth that the said Harrison Smith for and in
consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to him in
hand paid at and before the sealing & delivery of these
presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
granted bargained sold aliened conveyed & confirmed and
by these presents do grant bargain sell alien convey and
confirm unto the said John Castlin his heirs and assigns
all that lot or tract of land containing 202½ acres lying
and being in the fifteenth district of Upson County &
State aforesaid and known & distinguished in the plan of
said district by number seventy four - 74 - 

To have and to hold the said lot or tract of land with
all and singular the rights members appurtenances thereof
whatsoever to the said bargained premises being belonging
or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use
benefit and behoof of him the said John Castlin his heirs
executors administrators & assigns in fee simple and the
said Harrison Smith his heirs, executors & administrators
the said bargained premises unto the said John Castlin
his heirs executors and administrators and all and every
of the person or persons shall and will warrant & forever
defend by virtue of these presents.

In witness whereof the said Harrison Smith hath hereunto
set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year before
written.
