Atwater CO. F 9th Georgia Reg't Thomaston, Ga. January 18, 1912 To the United Daughters of the Confederacy: The undersigned residing at Thomaston, Upson Co. Ga., who is an Ex-Confederate Soldier, but not a member of any camp, hereby, at your request, presents this Certificate of Eligibility for a Southern Cross of Honor. He entered the service of the Confederate States on the 18th day of October 1861, as a Private in COMPANY I of the 6th Georgia Regiment of Georgia Volunteers, and afterwards Lieut. in Co. J 32d Ga. Reg.- & at close of War Capt. of Co. F. 9th Reg. of Ga. Reserves. He was honorably discharged from service by being disbanded at Augusta Ga. April 1865, at which time he held rank of CAPTAIN.
