Henry was in the employ of Judge Thos, S. Sharman, of this place and was in town. His wife had left home an hour previous and came to town to do some trading and accompany Henry home. About the time they were ready to start, they discovered a fire in the direction of their home and at their arrival were informed that their house and it's contents and their six children were consumed by fire. It is not known how the fire originated, but it is supposed that the oldest child, a boy 11 years of age, was trying to cook supper on the stove, perhaps built a fire and laid down and went to sleep. The door was wide open and some of the children were screaming within, when the first person reached the burning house. All efforts to saved them proved no Avail. Their charred remains were raked from among the embers with a hoe after the building was consumed. Henry and wife are faithful and industrious, and have the sympathies of everyone in this saddest hour of affliction. We hope they will call upon the people and let them aid them in this day of their misfortune.
