Thomaston Georgia Times

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence DeLacey Avent, 91, were held Sunday 
afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Pelham with Rev. Ed
Pitts and Rev. Fred Bulloch officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery
with Coggins Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Avent died Saturday at the Upson County Hospital following an extended
illness.  She resided on the Mauldin Road and was a resident of Upson County
for the past thirty one years.  Mrs. Avent was a native of Thomas County,
Georgia and had lived many years in Mitchell County, Georgia.

Survivors include three daughters, Lillie Avent of Lakeland, Florida, OraLee
Adair and Calista Holley, both of Thomaston, and one son Luvy Avent of Pelham,
Georgia; two brothers Guy Humphries and Martin Humphries, both of Pelham,
Georgia, 21 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren and 5 great great grand-
children also survive.
