Almon, age 82 of Temple, route one, died Friday evening in a local nursing home following an extended illness. She was born in Carroll County, Oct.27, 1893; the daughter of the late J. Thomas Morgan and Mary Elizabeth Hamrick Morgan. She had lived in Carroll County all her life and was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church. She was first married to Moses West who died in 1923. In 1931 she was married to Grady Almon who died in October 1969. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. U.L. West of Carrollton, route one, a half sister, Mrs. Robert Pruett of Camden, S.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 25, 1976, at 4 p.m. in the Concord United Methodist Cemetery at Hickory Level with Rev. J. Ferrell Drummond officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Martin and Hightower Funeral Home of Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.
