Barfoot, 59, were held Wednesday, January 5, 1983 at 4 o’clock from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Pitts officiating. Burial was in Crystal Hill Cemetery. Mr. Barfoot died Tuesday, January 4 at the Upson County Hospital. He resided on the Gordon School Road and was a retired emoployee of the B. F. Goodrich Textile Products, Martha Mills. A native of Laurens County he resided in Upson County for 45 years. Mr. Barfoot was a member of the Silvertown Methodist Church and was a former member of the Upson County Board of Education. He was a member of Morning Star Lodge # 27, Royal Arch Mason Chapter No. 29, the Thomaston Khirah Shrine Club and the Oriental Band of the Shrine. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Barfoot, three daughters: Mrs. Brenda Birdsong, and Mrs. Sandra Trice, both of Thomaston, Mrs. Peggy Smith, Dahlonega, one son, Sonny Barfoot, Thomaston, mother, Mrs. Johnnie Barfoot, Thomaston, one brother, Donald A. Barfoot, Culoden, seven grandchildren also survive.
