JOHN BLAND Mr. John Bland, one of Thomaston's pioneer citizens, died at his home in East Thomaston early Saturday morning after an illness of one week of paralysis. Mr. Bland was over eight years old. He was a familiar figure in the town, everybody knew him and liked him cordially. He was a good painter and once possessed considerable property. He was a member of the Methodist Church here, and was thrice married, his last wife having died only a few months ago. The funeral rites were held Sunday afternoon from the Methodist Church by Rev. Henry F. Branham. Interment was at Glenwood The deceased is survived by two sons. Messr. Will and Bog Bland; one daughter, Mrs. J.A. Meeks, besides a number of grandchildren.
