Billy Blankenship Graveside funeral services were held for Mr. William A. “Billy” Blankenship, 59, of 124 G Circle, Tuesday morning, December 24, 1985 at 11 a.m. Mr. Blankenship was pronounced dead on arrival in the emergency room of Upson County Hospital Sunday night, December 22. The Rev. Tim Haas officiated. Interment was held in Upson Memorial Gardens. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Blankenship was a native of Porterdale and had lived in Thomaston for 51 years. He was a section hand at Thomaston Division of Thomaston Mills, a veteran of WW 11 serving in the U.S. Navy, a member of East Thomaston Masonic Lodge F&AM and a member of Silvertown United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nell Smith Blankenship of Thomaston, one daughter, Mrs. Pam B. Adams of Thomaston, one son, Mr. Jeff Blankenship of Thomaston, one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Taylor of Decatur, one brother, Mr. Jimmy Blankenship of Thomaston, one grandson, William Shane Adams of Thomaston.
