Mrs. Velma B. Blount
Thomaston…Death claimed Mrs. Artis (Velma B.)
Blount, age 87 of 425 South Green Street on
Wednesday morning at the Emergency Room of the Upson
County Hospital.  Funeral services were held Friday
at 3:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church
with the Rev. W. C. Bowen officiating.  Burial was
in Glenwood Cemetery with Pasley-Fletcher Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Blount was a native of Philips County, Ark.,
but had lived in Thomaston for 72 years.  She was a
member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by four daughters:  Mrs. Cecil
Kersey, Panama City, Fla., Mrs. W. E. Huckabee Jr.,
and Mrs. Hartley ??can’t read first letter of last
name)      ?arron, both of Thomaston, and Mrs.
Preston Stephens, Atlanta, two sons;  J.W. (Billy)
Blount, Thomaston, and Samuel L. Blount, Atlanta, 15
grandchildren and four great grandchildren also
survive.
