Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, September 26, in the chapel of Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home with Dr. Robert M. Hoffmann and the Rev. Ted Kandler officiating. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery. A native of Coweta County, Mr. Braswell had been a resident of Upson County since 1925. He was a retired cattle farmer and blacksmith. He joined the First Baptist Church on March 15, 1925, and was ordained as a deacon on October 13, 1926. At the time of his death, Mr. Braswell was the oldest living deacon of the First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Woodman of the World and a Shriner, a member of Morning Star Lodge #27, Free and Accepted Masons, Morning Star Chapter 370, Order of the Eastern Star, and received his 50-year Grand Lodge Award on October 14, 1971. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sue Martin Braswell of Thomaston, three daughters: Mrs. Dorothy B, McDaniel of Macon, Mrs. Lillian B. Yeats, and Mrs. Lucile B. Vining, both of Thomaston.
