Melvin H. Burden
Thomaston…Funeral Services for Melvin Horace Burden,
age 63, of Route 2,( McEacher) (could not see the
end of the word)  Subdivision, were held today at 2
p.m. from the Twin Oaks Baptist Church, with the
Rev. Sam Davis and the Rev. Harry P. Wootan
officiating.  Interment was in South View Cemetery
with Coggins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Burden died Saturday night, 1977 at the Upson
County Hospital.  

He was a native of Coffee County, but had lived in
Upson County for 32 years.  He was employed in the
Sign Dept. of the Sate Highway Dept., Thomaston
Division and was a member of the Twin Oaks Baptist
church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clyde Burden,
Thomaston, two Daughters:  Mrs. Jacqueline Storey,
Thomaston and Mrs. Martha Ann Cawthon, Forest Park,
a son, James Melvin Burden, Meansville, two sisters:
Mrs. Walter Yonce, Stockbridge, and Mrs. Alma Key,
Miami, Fla.  Four grandchildren also survive.
