Mrs. Emma Burkett, 89

Mrs. Emma Blount Burkett, 89, of 591 White Road died
early Saturday morning, December 27, 1986, at the
Upson County Hospital.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 28th, at
2:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Baptist Church with
Dr. Rex King and Rev. James A, Coogler officiating. 
Interment was in the church cemetery.  Pasley-
Fletcher Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

She was retired from the Spinning Department of the
Martha Mills, division of the B.F. Goodrich Company.
Mrs. Burkett was the oldest Charter Member of
Mountain View Baptist Church.

     She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Margie Thompson of Thomaston, Mrs. Myra Wilkinson of Jonesboro, and Mrs. Golden Barnes of Thomaston, three sons, Charlie Douglas Burkett of Thomaston, Thomas B. of Jonesboro., and Sammy W. of Buford, seven sisters, Mrs. Evie Loue Ballard of Atlanta, Mrs. Sara Pharr,  Mrs. Lona Bell Walker, Mrs. Nell Walker, Miss Myrtice Blount, all of Thomaston, Mrs. Gussie Edwards of Newberry, S.C., and Mrs. Jewell Silo of San Antonio, Texas, one brother, Claude Blount of Thomaston, and nineteen grandchildren, and thirty one great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
