Charlie Henry Burkett

Thomaston…Charlie Henry Burkett, age 85, of 591
White Road, Thomaston, Ga., died at the Upson County
Hospital, Wednesday, June 10, 1981.  Funeral
services were held at Mountain View Baptist Church
at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 1981.  Rev. Rex King
and rev. James A. Coogler officiated the service.
Interment followed at Church Cemetery.

Mr. Burkett retired in 1961 from Thomaston Mills,
and was a charter member of Mountain View Baptist
Church and had served on the board of deacons.  He
was also a native of Upson County.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Blunt Burkett,
Thomaston, three daughters:  Mrs. Margie Thompson,
Morrow, Mrs. Myra Wilkinson, Jonesboro, Mrs. Golden
Barnes, Thomaston, three sons:  Mr. Charlie Douglas
Burkett, Thomaston, Mr. Thomas Burkett,  Jonesboro,
Mr. Sammy Burkett, Atlanta, one brother, Mr. Causie
Burkett, Thomaston, two sisters:  Mrs. Odessa Ard,
Thomaston, and Miss Vesta Burkett, Thomaston.

     Nineteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive.
