Funeral Services for Jimmy Lee Byars of Colluden were held Saturday aftrenoon at 3 o'clock from the Culloden Baptist Church with the Rev. E.C. McDaniel officiating. Burial was in the church Cemetery with Coggins-Trice Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Jimmy Byars was a passenger in a 1956 Ford driven by George G. Bowell, Jr. of Mussella, according to Trooper Mountian Green. The accident happened 9.5 miles East of Thomaston on the Yatesville Road Sunday Evening, Sept. 10 at 7:35 p.m. Survivors include his parents Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Byars, one Brother, Gary Byars; two sisters, Miss Sandra Byars and Miss Cherie Byars, all of Culloden; Maternal grandmother, Mrs. John Lee Savage, Thomaston; Paternal Grandmother, Mrs Ellie Easler, Warner Robbins; Paternal Grandfather, L.G. Byars, Thomaston. Notes- Jimmy Lee Byars was the son of Elmer Lee Byars and Christine Savage Byars. Parents of Christine (Savage) Byars were Rev. John Lee Savage & Maggie (Kirby) Savage.
