Arthur Gerald Cook ,61,died Sunday at Emory U.Hospital


Arthur Gerald Cook,61,of West County Road,died at
Emory University Hospital Sunday, Nov.24. Mr. Cook
had made his home in Thomaston since 1970. He was
employed by the Thomaston office of Ga. Natural Gas
until he transfered to the Atlanta office as
Superintendent of Building and Maintenance about
three years ago.He was a former member of the
Thomaston Lions club and served as a member of the
board of directors and as club secretary from 1979
to 1981.He was an Army veteran of World War II,and
was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Thomaston.


Mr.Cook is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Thompson
Cook;a daughter, Mrs. Jean C.Buckner of
Thomaston;and a son, Larry Gerald Cook of Raleigh,
N.C. One granddaughter also survives.


Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon ,Nov.26
at 2:00 in the Chapel of Pasley-Fletcher Funeral
Home. Dr. Robert M.Hoffmann officiated and interment
was in South View Cemetery. The family request that
memorial contributions be made to the renovation
fund of the First Baptist Church,Thomaston
