Mr. Joe E. Cooksey

Funeral services were held for Mr. Joe E. Cooksey,
53, of Griffin Wednesday, November 19, 1986 at 2
p.m. at the Chapel of Pittman-Rawls Funeral Home of
Griffin.  Mr. Cooksey died early Tuesday morning,
November 18 at Emory University Hospital of Atlanta.

The Rev. James Royals and Elder John Hendricks
officiated.  Burial was held in Glenwood Cemetery of
Thomaston.  Pittman-Rawls Funeral Home was in charge
of arrangements. Mr. Cooksey was a native of Upson
County, but made his home in Griffin for the past 26
years.  Mr. Cooksey was a Marine Corps Veteran,
member of Griffin Moose Lodge and was a retired
construction inspector for DeKalb County.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sylvia Punds
Cooksey of Griffin, two sons, Mr. Bobby Cooksey of
Atlanta, and Mr. Terry Cooksey of Griffin, mother,
Mrs. Josephine Cooksey of Thomaston, one sister,
Miss Evelyn Cooksey of Thomaston.
