MATTIE L. CORLEY COX
Mrs. Mattie L. Corley Cox, 83, of 98 old Yatesville
Road, died Monday, Dec. 31, 1984 at the Upson County
Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon,
Jan. 2, 1985, in Mountain View Baptist Church with
Dr. Rex King Officiating and the Rev. James A.
Coogler assisting.  Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was
in charge of the arrangements.  Burial followed at
the church cemetery.

A native of Upson County, Mrs. Cox was the widow of
the late Rev. John J. Cox.  She was a former
dietitian at Julliette School  in Jones County and a
member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

Survivors include six daughters; Mrs. Claude Davis
of Warner Robins, Mrs. Reginald Poteat of
Laurinburg, S.C., Mrs. William McElhenny, Mrs.
Douglas Burkett, Mrs. Ernest Dawson and Mrs. James
Shepard all of Thomaston; one son, Mr. John L. Cox
of Forsyth; one sister, Mrs. Onnie Mae Minton of
Griffin, and one brother, Mr. Artis M. Corley of Las
Vegas, NV. Thirty-seven grandchildren, 49 great-
grandchildren and one great, great-granddaughter
also survive.
