H.C. Daniel Passes At Home In The Rock

Mr. H.C. Daniel, one of Upson county’s most prominent and beloved citizens, 
died at his home in The Rock on Monday morning, September 15, after a week’s 
illness.

Funeral service[s], conducted by Dr. O.P. Gilbert of Atlanta and the Rev. 
Timberlake, were held at the residence Tuesday morning. Interment was in the 
family lot in Barnesville.

Mr. Daniel was one of the charter members of The Rock Baptist Church and 
served as a deacon.

He is survived by five sons, W.E., J.H., and Homer Daniel of Atlanta, L.P. 
Daniel of Savannah, and Edward Daniel of The Rock; four daughters, Mrs. C.A. 
McDaniel of Atlanta, Mrs. Clair Smith of Newnan, and Misses Maggie and Nettie 
Daniel of The Rock; one brother, William Pearse Daniel of Columbus. His wife 
and one son, Perry, died several years ago.
