Dallas, better known as 'Major" Dallas, died suddenly Monday afternoon at his apartment in the city. He had been a sufferer with heart trouble for sometime. The funeral of the deceased was held Tuesday afternoon at the home of his Brother, Mr. W. H. Dallas, Rev. C. S. Durden, Pastor Thomaston Baptist church, conducting the exercises. The body was laid to rest in Bethesda Cemetery. Mr. Dallas was 80 years of age and was a Confederate Veteran. He leaves 2 brothers who are residents of Thomaston: Mr. G. A. Dallas and Mr. W. H. Dallas He is the third member of the family to die this year, his brother, Mr. R. E. Dallas, and his sister, Miss Annie Dallas having proceeded him to the ground several months.
