L. Daniel and claimed as a heavenly prize their oldest son, John Hix. He was sick only one week, during which time an operation for appendicitis was performed. John Hix was 18 years of age. He was just entering the threshold of young manhood, though, he seemed to clearly understand the duties and responsibilities of a Christian life. Inspired by the desire to good and honor for God he won his way into the hearts of all those who knew him. He was devoted to his father and Mother and was a faithful and obedient son as well as a thoughtful and loving brother. He joined the Methodist Church at an early age, and from that time he made a most consistent member. In the Sunday School he was a willing supporter for a number of years. His absence is a loss and his place cannot be filled. Many friends are left to bemoan his death. He leaves father and mother. four brothers and one sister with whom we deeply sympathize. May their consolation rest in God from whose love we cannot be separated. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Tumlin assisted by Rev. R.E. Rutland, after which the remains where entered in the Hendricks Cemetery. R. Colbert Johnson Other-John Hicks Daniel 6/9/1897- 6/7/1915
